Conquering Loneliness

Posted to by Debbie Ford on Tue, 11/27/2007 - 6:04am

Our separation from our mate exposes the emptiness within us. Most of us thought that marriage would make us whole. And now, in the breakdown of our union, we are left feeling incomplete, lost, alone, flawed, and confused. We believe that our tears of sadness, walls of resignation, and cries of pain are caused by the collapse of our marriage, but here is more going on that we know. Much of our pain stems from our disconnection not just from our mate but from our divine source. And this disconnection can leave us feeling achingly lonely for a time. In this webisode we explore an exercise that asks you to differentiate the voice of your fear from the voice of your faith. Watch the segment, pick up a pen and paper, and see the difference it makes for you. conquering loneliness

Thank you Debbie Ford for this inspiring video. I am a recently divorced 51 year old and was allowing my voice of fear to make me feel so alone. This would usually occur on weekends when I was isolated from work, family and friends. I now realize I must find the strength in myself to silence this fear and allow the voice of hope and faith to enter instead. My past was the same as many women, I finally found the power to leave my husband after 28 years of physical and verbal abuses. I kept silent about this throughout my marriage. I am so grateful for my wonderful friends and two great sisters, who have helped me through this process. Also thanks again to you for your message.
