Rihanna may be back with Chris Brown, but that doesn't mean the police are going to back off in charging him with two felonies for roughing up his girlfriend on Grammy night. Although Brown issued a statement saying he was sorry and saddened by the incident and will seek help — and Rihanna's statement said she is "doing well" and is thankful for all the fan support — the law is now taking over.

Brown is going to have twist himself like a pretzel in making sure that Rihanna doesn't testify against him, though pictures do say a thousand words. TMZ got the original shot of the bruised singer, and those cuts and swollen eyes and lips tell the story. ?In fact, Fox 11 in Los Angeles along with TMZ have compiled compelling facts about the incident. ?

This is what Fox 11 reported:?

The warrant reportedly says that Rihanna and Brown were driving in his rented Lamborghini when Rihanna read him a three-page text message from an unidentified woman. An argument reportedly ensued. The report alleges that Brown tried to force Rihanna out of the car, but could not move her because she was wearing a seat belt.
TMZ reported that according to the search warrant, Brown allegedly shoved Rihanna's head against the passenger window and struck her several times when she turned to face him as he continued to drive. The alleged assault resulted in Rihanna's blood splattering on the interior of the car and her dress.

At some point during the alleged altercation, Rihanna reportedly called one of her assistants and told her to call police, saying, "I am on my way home. Make sure the cops are there when I get there." Brown allegedly replied, "You just did the stupidest thing ever. I'm going to kill you." The warrant alleged that Brown told Rihanna, "I'm going to beat the sh-- out of you when we get home. You wait and see." The report also said that Brown continued to punch Rihanna, bit her on the ear and her fingers and put her in a headlock, almost causing her to lose consciousness.

Since then, the couple have been in Miami at Sean Puff Daddy's compound. But that trip is compounding some of the controversy. Where is his remorse? He's been seen jet skiing and frolicking in the water.

Rihanna, meanwhile, hasn't been photographed.

Interestingly, some bloggers have said that if Rihanna wants to be with him, he should be given a second chance. I have to wonder what experiences these women have had in their own lives. They need women like Rihanna as a role model to stand up and say, "I won't tolerate this. No one has to put up with this. He's history."

We don't know what deals are being brokered behind the scenes. Maybe she plans on giving him the heave-ho and he begged her to just stick it out with him so his career won't take a nosedive forever. With her support, he is allowed to rehabilitate himself and his career. Without her presence, he will be viewed as a thug.

Whatever the outcome, Chris Brown is in trouble and the issue of physical abuse is now in the headlines for all of use to digest and contemplate.

Most men who abuse their girlfriends or wives have the power position. Right now, Rihanna is in the driver's seat and can steer this story and case in many directions. We just hope her ride from now on — hopefully minus Brown — takes her to a destination that is safe and fulfilling.
