Fran Davis, Ph.D. Featured

Over the past 25 years, in my work as a Psychologist, I have had the privilege of working with and learning from hundreds of individuals, couples and families as they have wrestled with the challenges of their personal and professional lives. My approach is active and engaged – I really care about my clients and want to help them achieve their personal and professional goals.

My clients tell me that they appreciate that commitment and that they find me to be very down to earth and human so it is easier for them to open up and be real with me. While every person's story and circumstances are unique, in general, if someone is helped by the work we do together, it is probably because we form a relationship of trust and connection.

In addition to my psychotherapy practice, I have a depth of experience in career counseling and coaching. My first position following my graduate training was at Harvard Business School providing personal, academic and career counseling to the MBA students. Over two decades later, I continue to work as a consultant at HBS as a career coach in MBA and Alumni Career Services and in the Executive Education program. Through this work, I have developed a deep understanding and appreciation of the interplay between peoples' work and their psychological well-being. This work also enables me to keep abreast of current trends in business and in the latest resources for career self-assessment and coaching.

In addition to my work at Harvard Business School, I have also taught psychology courses at Harvard College and Lesley University, including Human Sexuality and the Positive Psychology (aka The Psychology of Happiness) and Developmental Psychology.

Given my experience, I have been able to work with people at all ages and stages to help them navigate their way to more satisfying work and relational lives. While it is always wonderful to meet with people face-to-face if they are in the greater Boston area, I have worked successfully via telephone and skype with people across the US and around the world. I would be happy to speak with you to see if I could be helpful to you in your process of finding a happier, more successful life.
