The 39-year-old former model sets off shortly to compete in ABC's Dancing With the Stars," oddly enough ... it’s odd not because she's in the middle of a bitter divorce battle with Paul McCartney, but because her artificial leg might lend for nothing more than a wooden performance.

German man chainsaws house in two in divorce split

thechainsaw.jpg

Rather than risk losing his home in an imminent divorce, a man in Sonneberg, Germany took the term "division of property" quite literally when he took a chain saw and cut his one story house in half. Not one to be called messy, he neatly picked up his half and carted it away on a forklift truck.

It's fashion week in Paris again. Click in to see the highlights for the Fall/Winter 2007-2008 collection. I don't know about you, but unless you're Alice in Wonderland or find yourself living in a Dali painting, would you actually strut down the street wearing such an extravagant hat? I love the expression of art, but do people actually wear some of this stuff?

Fresh from the divorce court and back onto the tennis court, Justine Henin won the Qatar Open with a 6-4, 6-2 win, beating out Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova.

''I never lost my tennis,'' she said. ''All I needed was to get my confidence back and I am proud of the way I did that. I needed to move forward and know who I am.''

Bobby Brown Back Behind Bars! Say that three times fast

whitneypic.jpg

It seems Bobby Brown has more to be upset about than the end of his 14 year marriage to Whitney Houston. First, the fact that Eddie Murphy didn't win the Oscar — and Second, the fact he has been cooling his heels in Jail for failure to pay $19,000.00 in child support. He was arrested while watching his daughter's cheerleading competition. Gimme a "B"!

If you think love stinks, how about this divorce?

shrimp.jpg

She spent the first day sadly packing her belongings into boxes, crates and suitcases. On the second day, she had the movers come and collect her things. On the third day, she sat down on the floor in the dining room by candlelight, put on some soft background music, and feasted on a pound of shrimp, a jar of caviar, and a bottle of Chardonnay.

When she had finished, she went into each and every room and deposited a few half eaten shrimp and caviar into the hollow of the curtain rods. She replaced the end caps on the curtain rods, cleaned up the kitchen, and left.

When the husband returned with his new girlfriend, all was bliss for the first few days. Then slowly, the house began to smell. They tried everything, cleaning, mopping, and airing the place out. Vents were checked for dead rodents, and carpets were steam cleaned. Air fresheners were hung everywhere.

Exterminators were brought in to set off gas canister, during which they had to move out for a few days, and they even paid to replace the expensive wool carpeting. Nothing worked. People stopped coming over to visit. Repairmen refused to work in the house. The maid quit. Finally, they could not take the stench any longer and decided to move.  read more »

The raw, uncut truth about cucumbers

and their health benefits

cucum.jpg

A few nights ago, after polishing off a nice steak and a glass or two of red wine (it does cut your cholesterol and help you live longer ~ ) I decided to have a massage to relieve the stress from the day. Yes, it was a bit of an odd thing to do at 8 p.m., but it was well deserved and much needed.

The massage started off as deep tissue, but that wasn't flying well with the muscles in my back that had worked so hard at tightening up this week from the laborious effort of supporting the back of a body that forever seems to lean closer and closer to the computer screen as it's owner neglectfully types away. So we went Swedish, fast.

The next morning I awoke feeling a bit sluggish, and normally I'd just give up and sleep in, but important meetings called. So I forced myself out of bed and headed to the bathroom. When I looked in the mirror, I shivered, grimaced, and thought, bleeeahghh. It was as if every toxin released in my body last night had decided to push it's way out through the now inflamed bags under my eyes. Yikes. Emergency. I had no masks or creams, or special formulaic concoctions that cost an arm and leg to dig me out of this catastrophe.  read more »

How did he say I love you —

A recent study dives into how the communcation patterns between men and women differ

manjumpstub.jpg

When it comes to communication, the often nebulous elements of percecption and reality can end up developing into a gap the size of the English Channel if you don't say exactly what you mean, or say it in a way that's sensitive to the person on the receiving end of your comments. This has particular resonance with the way in which men and women communicate, either in friendships, relationships, in the workplace or at home.

Latest weapon in divorce: man builds a drywall partition

home.jpg

I've heard stories, but this one tops them. The troubles of a married couple have led to building a wall smack down the middle of their house after two years of a bitter separation. The man was responsible for erecting the partition, but neither is willing to move out of the spacious "million dollar" home in Brooklyn ... even though they own a second home two doors down. Anyone know a contractor that moonlights as a marriage counselor?
Could be a profitable intervention...

Yes, very old knots do comes undone. As they walked into the divorce attorney's office and announced they wanted to separate, the attorney suprisingly asked, "But you lasted this long, why divorce now?" The couple dryly quipped, "We were waiting for the kids to die." It's actaully become quite a common thing for married couples in the the sunset of their lives to go their separate ways after having stayed together for reasons other than love.  read more »
