Wife Divorces Husband Behind His Back
The black widow, the conniving ex, the money-grubbing gold digger. Women have all sorts of stigmas to overcome when it comes to marriage and money.
I have to say, this does nothing for our good name: a Korean woman allegedly brought a stand-in for her husband to court, allowing her to obtain a divorce, spousal support, sole custody of the couple’s four-year-old daughter, and all of their property. All without her husband’s knowledge, reports The Korea Times.
The unnamed man was away on business in Dubai for a little less than a year. About six months into his trip, Sneaky Wife filed for divorce, claiming mutual consent. When both parties were required to appear in family court, someone claiming to be her husband stood before the judge, agreed to the split, as well as to handing over just over $900,000 in compensation, $2000 a month for his ex’s living expenses, and all of their property—worth about $356,000.
Maybe somebody should have checked this guy’s ID! (According to the article, the judge did verify the couple’s identities…) Sadly, he learned that he was divorced via his in-laws when he returned home from his 10-month trip. No word on the whereabouts of Sneaky Ex, or if the two had been talking during his trip. Perhaps that would come up at some point?
