Men Go To Extremes To Avoid Marriage
Men Go To Extremes To Avoid Marriage
Arson, kidnapping top the list
A Japanese man with cold feet turned up the heat in his relationship this weekend. On Sunday morning, Tatsuhiko Kawata set fire to the hotel in which his wedding would have taken place later that day, reports Reuters. Turns out, he's already married and realized (hours before the ceremony) that polygamy probably wasn't a wise idea.
No one was harmed, although guests were evacuated from the resort hotel, located west of Tokyo. Eighty guests were expected at the couple's ceremony.
Once Kawata was arrested, he admitted to the crime, explaining that he assumed he wouldn't have to go through with the marriage if he set the fire.
I wonder: Will his fiancée stay with him (or his wife, for that matter)? Or has this relationship gone up in smoke?
A Swedish man, however, wishes his relationship would go up in smoke. The unnamed man claims he was abducted by two men and taken to Germany, reports Associated Press.
Turns out, he embarked on a European tour to clear his mind and get away from his troubled marriage. He came up with the kidnapping story to explain his absence to his wife — who had since reported him missing.
The runaway husband has been charged with falsifying a crime.
