Indiana Woman Holds World Record for Most Marriages

What do a convict, a preacher, a musician, a couple of bartenders, homeless men, electricians, and at least two gay men (not coupled), have in common? (insert snare drum roll)…wait for it…

Answer: Linda Lou Wolfe!! (cue cymbals crashing).

The name doesn’t ring a bell?  Then you must not be one of the 23 men she has been married to over the past 50 years, earning her the Guinness World Record for most married woman in history. 

While Wolfe, 68, can't remember her husbands in order of matrimony, she does recall:

Her longest marriage: 7 years with George Scott (first husband)

Her shortest marriage: 36 hours to Fred Chadwick (oh, Fred)

Her last husband (so far): Glynn “Scotty” Wolfe. The two married as a publicity stunt, since Wolfe was the Guinness World Record holder for most married man. Linda Lou Wolfe became his 29th bride. He died shortly before their first anniversary.

And even though one husband beat her, several deserted her, and at least one died on her, Linda Lou would marry again, she told the Indianapolis Star, "because, you know, it gets lonely."  

Gosh. Love… it makes me all tingly inside.
