Former Colorado governor Bill Owens and his wife Frances are divorcing after more than 30 years together. The two separated in 2003 while Owens was in office, but reconciled in 2005. Both have stated that the decision was "private and mutual" and they will continue to be friends. Neither one has yet to say what it is that caused the separation or the move to divorce, but the mute response is probably not due to Bill's political career. After serving his second term he began working in global banking. Gotta love politics and the great connections it can net you, eh?
Eddie Murphy's latest whirlwind romance has hit the skids, surprise surprise. His "marriage" to producer Tracey Edmonds is over after just two weeks, though luckily for the two of them, their marriage was neither legal nor binding, just ceremonial. Hey, no strung-out divorce for these two! There is some speculation that Murphy's past relationship with Mel B of the Spice Girls is part of the reason he and Edmonds split, and I will say, having a baby with another woman can surely put a strain on a relationship.
Last but not least, British funnyman John Cleese and his wife Alice are breaking up after 15 years together. This will be Cleese's third divorce. The two have reportedly been sleeping in separate rooms for some time, and some reports attribute the dissolution of the relationship to Cleese's behavior. He has been allegedly been suffering from "bouts of melancholy" due to the deaths of several close friends. He is 69 years old, and his wife is 63. If this really is the case, that is rather sad. It might seem better to try and grow closer to his wife rather than push her out, though if they're sleeping in separate rooms they've probably been divided for awhile now. Just proves that life as a comedian isn't always funny.
