i kept my married name because prior to my marriage I had an ex boyfriend who was stalking me and threatening to kill me, so i moved, got married, changed my name and my profession...
I took the married name each time. It probably was the wrong move for my current marriage, I had been in my profession (commercial real estate) for over 22 years, and no one knew me by my new married name. Consequently, I have an alias...I use my prior name in the industry. Business cards, etc. and only use my married name for legal things... Frankly, I confused everything. too late now been doing this for 6 years... Dumb Dumb, ladies if your in a job where your name is part of the marketing..It's my opinion you should keep it..this is a nightmare...

After being kicked to the curb after 39 years of marriage, I decided to take back my maiden name. Why? Why would I want to keep the name of the man that turned his back on me? Should I ever re-marry, I will probably keep my name as it is now - don't want to go through that again!! I came into this world as a Lane, and I'll go out as Lane!!
I got rid of the former husband's name and took back my father's name(haha) --it has been that way ever since (20+ years). I was still me, and the kids name being different from mine is not unusual. Plenty of people have different last names from their parent(s).
I will keep my married name because that's who I am now for the last 25 years. It's not for the kids, it's not because I'm afraid, taking back my maiden name won't liberate me. It's just who I am now. My mother kept her married name and they divorced when I was 13....it's been thirty years later. She is as strong and as independent as she ever would have been under her old name. Plus old friends from her married days are able to find her (which has happened)

keeping married name
I kept my married name due to being known in my chosen profession. That was the ONLY reason....not because of children or "too difficult".
I also kept my married name,
I also kept my married name, not because the process was too difficult, but because it suited my profession.
