Bloomberg and the blended family

I'm so glad to hear there are others out there with happy experiences like my own. My parents divorced when I was 12 and it was a good thing for all of us. I still got to see my parents just as much as when they were together and I actually spent more quality time with my parents because they knew it was on a time schedule. They went out of their way to do things with me rather than running around doing nothing.

My parents did the same thing at the Bloomberg's they kept me in front of their minds instead of me being an after thought. They knew they would always have a connection because of me and because of that they got along very well. I have to admit they too got along much better as friends than they did as spouses. A family today might not be what it was 20 or 50 years ago but as long as there is love there is always a connection and meaningful memories will always be created. Mike and Susan should be very proud.

May - December romance gone sour

I have to admit this one was one I could see coming a mile away. Ivana Trump and Rossano Rubicondi just seemed like such a miss match to begin with. I wish her the best of luck because I think she is a brilliant woman with a good sense for business but a bad sense for love. Keep trying Ivana! I'm sure the right guy will come along eventually. In the mean while have fun with a few Mr Right Nows! :)

I can't believe someone would do something like this. Gary Karpin must have no feelings at all to have taken advantage of people like this. When people are going through divorce they are at their most vulnerable and to take advantage of that is sickening. I'm glad he got the 15 years which will probably be 7 years in the end but I think he should also have to pay back all the money plus interest to those that have suffered because of his thoughtless deeds.

I am so very proud of you! You have been through more than anyone knows and still you have your optimism, not always, but you do always work through it and end up being a blessing to somebody else. I am excited to all the doors that will be opened to your new chapters in life. I am proud to tell people that you are my sister. Love you Colleen

My ex-MIL e-mailed me a few days ago. Now that a line of communication has been established I'm really not sure what steps *I* want to take. I blame her for raising my ex into the man he became. I'm sure she in turn blames me for the divorce. There's time...

On Thanking Our Exes

I suspect in a few weeks when I look at my newborn I'll feel a similar gratitude. My soon-to-be-ex gave me a son to share my journey with.

Happy Thanksgiving Faith.

Tongue biting, another thing to add to our list of motherly duties. Also another thing our children will love and respect us far down the road. In the end that is all that matters isn't it? Cathy Meyer

I'm sitting here typing with swollen fingers, my face is puffy and my slender ankles have all but vanished. I doubled up on vitamin B-6 day before yesterday with no positive results. Today I'll make a trip to the store for sweet potatoes...without the yams! Good luck in the battle of the bloat.
Take a pice of paper- draw a line down the middle...on the left write all the things you have been brilliant at all these years and on the right the things you are horrible at...put a line across the bottom and write your dreams....no time to waste...see which things on the left can ttraslate to making your dreams come true...then go...be creative...upgrade your skills if need be...make yourself a biography with all your best accomplishments and attributes...get a business card that has your name and phone number and email....make sure you are computer literate...then go! At the very least get out now during the holidays when people are hiring just to get your feet wet and meet some new people.

This is an interesting

This is an interesting article. Are the results race-specific though. The author mentioned that the study was done on mostly White children. Would there correspondingly be a difference in the cortisol levels of say, Hispanic children or Asian children of divorce? Is there a difference in the ways the parents fight, for example that has something to do with race? What about Black children? How do they fare? As a former teacher turned divorce attorney in New York II would be interested in a more multi-cultural study that reflects the multi-cultural population since more and more children of all races are facing divorce, and this impacts the way they actually behave in a school setting.
