May - December romance gone sour

I have to admit this one was one I could see coming a mile away. Ivana Trump and Rossano Rubicondi just seemed like such a miss match to begin with. I wish her the best of luck because I think she is a brilliant woman with a good sense for business but a bad sense for love. Keep trying Ivana! I'm sure the right guy will come along eventually. In the mean while have fun with a few Mr Right Nows! :)

how to talk to your kids when your ex won't pay

I do not agree with this advice , especially when dealing with teenagers, for one thing they see right through this and is it really teaching them to be responsible and accountable for their own actions IF you are STILL taking responsibility for your ex's IRREPONSIBILITY!!!! I believe the truth is always the best coarse and let chips fall were they may! I'd rather pick up the mess than take on my ex's attitude of self centered behavior and I'll be a positive role model of how a parent SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR CHILDREN and put the children FIRST and NOT themselves.

I oftentimes feel the same way and I think it just comes down to that idea of prince charming that gets embedded into our brains at an early age via: Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and all of those other childrens films. we're programmed to NEED marriage

cohabitation or not?

Simply, it is very difficult to determine if a 'romantic' relationship becomes a long term partnership as in a marriage. It would be grossly unfair to the woman who receives maintenance as per the courts to be expected not to have romance or even sex for the rest of her life in order to receive what is due to her especailly if the marriage was a long one and she contributed her life to that marriage, including carrying and giving birth to the husband's offspring. It would be unsually severe punishment to her and let the husbad go care free to have sex and shack up with another. A woman needs her physical and emotional needs met just as much as a man needs it. Still a man's world - most women only make 2/3's of what men make and those are few nowadays. In this economy, women must do what they can to survive, and if it means sharing an apartment and food expenses with another who might be a man or a woman, then why is she punished by suspending her rightful income? This Griev example should not be applied to most other cases becasue most women do not get 120k a year as maintenace. Most women probably receive under 500 per month. In short - not a good case to base all other cases on, and not a good precedent to establish as it gives MEN financial control.. one more time. Let's face it, more and more people are living together 'cos it is very difficult to live on 20K a year (what most women make) especially in NY. If her ex makes nearly 5 rtimes as much, and she supported him (emotionally, physically, psychologically, sexually, etc) for decades, why take that away from her? Then, another option would be to come up with an approximate amount as payment for HER services (as mentioned in parenthesis above) minus what would have 'cost' to maintain her for those years.. a housekeeper, a breeding womb, a prostitute, driver, financial accountant, personal aide, shopper, etc, etc. .. a good 150k per year of employment minus maybe 60k for clothing, shelter, etc? And what if she herself also worked full time while doing all the other services for him? Just too much to think about.. it is the 21st Century and women are still being undervalued and considered equal to men.

Well, the wife has certainly

Well, the wife has certainly gotten herself a high priced and experienced attorney to handle this matter, but the agreement seems to have been clear on its face. No cohabitation for more than 60 days. If she in fact cohabited, it is clearly a breach of the agreement and she should lose the alimony per the terms of the agreement. Perhaps she did this to test her former spouse, to see if he meant it, and it was a bad risk, because she easily could have cohabited for 59 days and sent her paramour back to his place right after that, and then shack up the following week. But perhaps she does not need the money, so she decided to play Russian Roulette.

I think we all know Sex and Alcohol are not causes of bad marriages. Their mis-use or...ahem, "mis-placement" are only symptoms of deeper, personal problems.
Perhaps the slogan should be: Abstinence makes the heart go YONDER...
