Their lives are changed FOREVER due to their dad thinking only of himself and not others in regards to consequences of his actions....how sad! I think, or I guess, that its much harder for these women to leave thier husbands, because of how public it is all made. But, who knows what goes down behind closed doors...? I do agree though, that if the roles were reversed, the men would be leaving thier wives like that (snapping fingers)... Believing that one can schmooze a spouse to "forgive and forget" is a huge contibutor in one's decision to cross the line. I believe Clinton learned he had power over Hillary very early on in their relationship; Spitzer probably learned the same too. It is a "power-trip" thing. Power over the spouse, the lover, and everyone directly and indirectly affected. That's why so many politicians are unfaithful - it is just their nature to try and excercise power over others. Like moths to candles, they're drawn to politics where they can excercise great power over millions. Is it any surprise that they try to control spouses and conquer lovers the way they do? What nobody seems to focus on is his poor wife, Silda. I looked at that photo of her today, and my heart broke. She looks so sad.

Can you imagine for a second how humiliating it must be to be the wife of the Governor that just got busted for prostitution? Talk about no privacy.

I suppose that if she wants someone to talk to, someone who could truly understand her position, she has several options. Starting with Hilliary Clinton. We all remember what she went through with Bill, Monica, and the infamous blue dress.

Then there's Wendy Vitter, wife of David Vitter, a senator in Louisiana, who interestingly enough, had this to say when asked if she would be as forgiving as Hillary were her husband caught having an affair: "I'm a lot more like Lorena Bobbitt than Hillary, if he does something like that, I'm walking away with one thing, and it's not alimony, trust me." Lucky for David, it seems she changed her mind.

And let's not forget Dina McGreevy, wife of New Jersey Governor James McGreevy, who resigned from his position after announcing that he is gay and was having an affair. They are getting divorced.

It seems that these type of affairs have happened all throughout history, but it also seems that things aren't quite what they used to be, in that people are not as forgiving or as quick to turn their heads.

https://www.firstwivesworld.com/relevant-news/faith-eggers/what-about-silda#comments contemplating divorce divorce community divorce news divorced women divorces moving beyond divorce navigating divorce sex and love Sex and Love Contemplating Divorce Navigating Divorce Moving Beyond Divorce Tue, 11 Mar 2008 15:03:35 -0400 Faith Eggers 5831 at https://www.firstwivesworld.com
