What is sad about the analysis of this article is the reality of the huge liability Marriage has become to Men. Women refuse to look at how Men are treated in Family Courts. As long as Men are exploited under the Current system. More and More Men will join the Marriage Strike. As Marriage no longer offers Men any benefits only huge liabilities. Loss of access to children, Prison for being late or behind on child support. The Marriage paradigm is broken. Women need to face reality and do something about the inequalities of Marriage or stop complaining. Feminists stated decades ago their intention was to destroy Marriage as it was "Oppressive" to Women. Turns out they are Freeing Men from Marriage as well. Now Women are waking up to this. Last year 12% of US Marriages were between American Men and Foreign Women. This trend is accelerating as US Men are attempting to cope with a system that is egregious in its treatment of us. Only Women can change this. And Women are silent about this reality.

Unrealistic expectations from women is one reason

Women today have unrealistic expectations from men. Nagging and complaining about everything does not motive a man to do anything. In fact, it has the opposite effect. Women today also don't bring much to the table. Do women today cook, clean, do laundry, take care of the kids, or work? Are they financially responsiblity? Generally speaking, no. Do they respect men or view them as slaves? (hint : it's not the former) So then, what's in marriage for men? Unreasonable expectations coupled with not receiving anything from the wife is a reason to dump your wife.

A far better solution is to abolish marriage altogether. Or if you really want to marry, include all divorce papers, presigned and an expiration date for the marriage. Why not make "mock marriages"? They would be just as much fun with... no strings attached

You speak facetiously, but it would not surprise me in the least if there was a sub-set of attorneys that routinely scan the wedding announcements and do all kinds of background work to develop a profile for each potential client. The fact of the matter is, for better or for worse, divorce is a very lucrative industry, much more so than marriage ever was. A wedding can be planned and put forward for a lot of money or very cheaply; divorce involves emotions, property, bank accounts, and is always very expensive to pursue. It involves lawyers, judges, child support agencies, law enforcement, and a whole theme park full of state employees whose sole job is to collect money from dead-beat dads. Each and every one of the entities involved in promoting and promulgating divorce all get a piece of the pie, and it's a recurring cost. Why promote a single-event expenditure like marriage when divorce can involve so many people for longer periods of time? Marriage is an outmoded institution that needs to be put on the scrap-heap of society. It's a raw deal for men as well as women, and it's usefulness has fallen away. Don't believe me? Listen to how little it is defended and promoted. Look in any yellow pages and count up how many marriage counsellors there are, then count up how many divorce attorneys there are. One number will staggeringly overshadow the other, I am certain.

I was doing some very focused research on the web a moment ago in regards to child support laws when I suddenly stumbled upon this website. Go ahead. Click it. You'll quickly understand why I'm not so focused anymore. For those who don't feel like being baited, it's called Dump Your Wife Now. No, I'm not kidding.

"Oh my" is pretty much all I can say about this. I mean, one of their tag lines is "Forget counseling, we are all you need to kick her to the curb." Another is "Turning Doormats into Men".

And so it goes. So this is what marriage has devolved into. One day we see billboards with scantly clad people proclaiming: "Life's Short. Get a Divorce" and the next we stumble upon this. After getting over the inital shock, all you're really left pondering is this: What is the point? What's next — will divorce attorneys soon redefine ambulance chasing into wedding chasing?

I have an idea that should save us all a bunch of time, heartache and money: Why not start hiring divorce attorneys to come to our weddings? They can hand us our divorce decree right after we walk down the aisle, and in turn we can hand them a few thousand dollars. OK, maybe they can do it after the party. After all, who doesn't like a party?

Seriously though, it really does seem a shame to me that something that once seemed so beautiful and sacred to us is so quickly being turned into just another thing that we can make a mockery of.
