For some reason the new wife doesn't want to share the name with me! Since it has been my name for over 20 years (I'm kinda used to it), I've decided to keep it! If it annoys them, well thats an added benefit! I wasn't going to do it at first, because my children are young and might be confused. Then I figured, if he doesn't want me, why should I want his name? It's just a daily reminder of who I'm NOT anymore. I talked to the kids about it and they were okay with it. So, I'm going to change back and find myself again.
Thu, 01 Nov 2007 07:15:52 -0400 Guest comment 2992 at https://www.firstwivesworld.com Looks good... https://www.firstwivesworld.com/community/the-d-word/the-d-word/the-d-word-changing-names#comment-1850
Can't wait to see more.
Fri, 17 Aug 2007 06:55:16 -0400 Guest comment 1850 at https://www.firstwivesworld.com It's coming in about a week https://www.firstwivesworld.com/community/the-d-word/the-d-word/the-d-word-changing-names#comment-1732
We'll be posting several new videos a week --- check back!
Tue, 14 Aug 2007 01:20:46 -0400 Guest comment 1732 at https://www.firstwivesworld.com ditto https://www.firstwivesworld.com/community/the-d-word/the-d-word/the-d-word-changing-names#comment-1731
I'm the same way. For me, I just felt I needed the liberation. Keeping my ex's name seemed to weigh on me. It was a bit of an anchor for me moving on beyond that part of my life. I would suggest to any woman to move on, and start fresh
Tue, 14 Aug 2007 00:55:18 -0400 Guest comment 1729 at https://www.firstwivesworld.com I'm 31, and divorced https://www.firstwivesworld.com/community/the-d-word/the-d-word/the-d-word-changing-names#comment-1727
It's nice to see other in my age group talking about divorce. I've felt a little isolated. No one in my social network of friends seems to be in any way close to what I'm going through, which makes it hard to reach out and get feedback from friends. I mean, there love and support has been great, but none of them have been through it. I'm not blaming the, I'm just saying it's nice to actually think there others going through what I'm going through... anyway... thanks for supporting the cause, so to speak .... I'm looking forward to seeing what the women have to say. Divorce is so different for people in their 20s and 30s, esp. if you don't have kids.
