I called the number for an appointment, saw the place and loved it. I gave the landlord the deposit and first month’s and took the keys. Why did I buy underwear that day? I never went back to the old house or the old husband. I went to Target bought an air mattress some sheets, a change of clothes, tooth paste…you get the picture. That night in my new place; it was the first night of the rest of my wonderful new life.
